Christmas Tree Festival 2026

GETTING THAT CHRISTMAS FEELING

Well, the heatwave is well and truly over, and now you’re looking out your woollies as the weather is certainly getting blustery. That can only mean one thing in Melton – The Christmas Tree Festival is on its way!

This year will see a few changes to make the event in St Mary’s Church even better than before, and more accessible to a greater number of people.

Hundreds of trees with non-flashing lighting will welcome visitors and of course there will be Christmas music in the background. As usual, refreshments will be available each day and there will also be carol services with the choir, for families and friends

The Programme will begin with a Preview Evening on Thursday 26 December (chargeable) at 7.00pm where the lights will be switched on at 7.30. On Friday the church will be open from 9.00am until 9pm to coincide with the Victorian Fair and Town Lights Switch-on.

The church will be open every day from 9.00, with varying closing times (check our programme posters). The Festival will close at 2pm on Tuesday 1 December to allow for removal of trees and tidying up.

Please note that normal entry during the Festival will be £3 per adult.

If you want to decorate a tree, entry forms will be sent out w/b 21 September, or you can apply to organisers via the Parish Office on Burton Street.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Helen Bett
